Today, I have the immense pleasure of presenting this award to someone who has had a profound impact on my presidency. This individual has not only made my life as president significantly easier but has also been an invaluable sounding board for ideas and an active participant in our executive committee. His unwavering support, willingness to listen, and exceptional contributions have made a world of difference. He is always there to bounce ideas off of and provide valuable insights. Shortly after I started in my new role as president, I made a joke and told Gerdie and Paul that being president was too easy and something must be wrong. Just to be clear – that didn’t last, but the reason it felt so odd at first is because I had previously been handling the Marketing Portfolio, which is a beast and had been a big and busy, constant, and consuming job. This person picked up the ball and ran with it. He deals with a variety of things daily, with exceptional attention to detail, and this allows me to focus on all my other SANA jobs, my day job, and my family. So a big thank you, and this year’s president’s award, goes to Trevor Gouws.
