Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) is a leading Section 21 Non-Profit Organisation that addresses food security, environmental sustainability, and greening. Our core purpose is to improve lives and landscapes towards healthy people on a healthier planet. We have a large and diverse programme portfolio with programmes active across South Africa since 1990.
With decades of experience, robust data collection, monitoring and evaluation, we understand what it takes to achieve real, long-term sustainability that makes a positive difference to the lives of all South Africans.
We have planted over 4.6 million trees; developed 1000’s of permaculture food gardens; trained more than 1500 farmers; and reached over 17 500 schools and communities since our inception.
