Rob has served on the KZN Forum committee for a number of years and has been involved in the organising of KZN Trade Fairs and a number of successful KZN golf days.

Always willing to give input and advice … and when needed, lend a hand, Rob is as dependable as they come.

A true supporter of SANA and 100% committed to the KZN and growth within our industry in this region.

This Service Award recognises your dedication and devotion to SANA KZN.

We call him MacGyver in view of his extraordinary knack for unconventional problem solving, and specifically in terms of his absolute commitment in getting the job done, mostly done in the backroom where no one sees it.

However it has been noticed and he has been instrumental in solving ‘behind the scenes’ logistics for numerous SANA events and is most deserving of the award.  Always around to lend a helping hand, whether it is to put up banners, carry equipment around, nothing is too much to handle and he takes it in his stride – always smiling.

A well-known and respected Member of SANA.  Supporting the Trade Fair as exhibitor as well as being an active member of the Bedding Plant Growers Association, he is always willing to contribute and give input, particularly with regards to the marketing of bedding plants.

Education is one of his passions and he was instrumental in the writing of unit standards for our industry as well as the Grower Supervisor Training course offered through AgriSETA. He served on the SANA Executive Council in the 1990’s with the GIC industry marketing initiative as well as in the portfolio of SANA Finances.  His passion for plants and growing is evident becoming very involved in IPPS which saw him serve as IPPS Southern Africa President.

This award recognises not only a body of work but an individual who has quietly contributed to the foundation and success of the Association we are today – The SANA 2018 Service Award recipient Hans Sitting.
